Gantt criticizes his opponent, Jesse Helms, for wanting to shut down the Department of Education, voting to cut Medicare and Social Security, and giving tax breaks to companies. He criticizes Helms for the Jesse Helms Foundation getting donations from companies and foreign nations, and for not releasing his donor list. He asks the audience to encourage others to vote.
